x = - 1.73
Step-by-step explanation:
0 = x²+3
subtract 3 from both sides
0-3 = x²+3-3
-3 = x²
square root both sides to make x the subject of the formula
√-3 = √x²
square cancel the square root
∴ x = - 1.73
