How do I solve (5x-7) (3x-8) ?

    (5x-7) (3x-8)

    Expand using FOIL (multiply the firsts, then outers, then inners, then lasts):

    Firsts: 5x * 3x = 15x²

    Outers: 5x * - 8 = - 40x

    Inners: - 7 * 3x = - 21x

    Lasts: - 7 * - 8 = 56

    Combine them all together:

    15x² - 40x - 21x + 56

    15x^2 - 61x + 56
