    1) Distribute 6 (x-2) by doing 6 * x + 6 * - 2

    6x - 12 = 4

    2) We want to isolate x, by moving all of the numbers to the other side of the equation. To get rid of - 12, we add 12 tot both sides

    6x - 12 + 12 = 4 + 12

    6x = 16

    3) We want one s instead of 6, so we divide both sides by 6

    6x/6 = 16/6

    x = 2 4/6 or 8/3

    6 (x-2) = 4 (expand the brakets)

    6x-12=4 (Bring over - 12)

    6x=4+12 (add up)

    6x=16

    x=16/6

    x=8/3

    I think that should be it ...
