To figure out the answer to this problem, first we need to figure out the maximum number of stickers that could be in each group.

If you begin to guess and check using simple times tables, brainstorming includes:

    7*7=49

    7*6=42

    7*5=35

    7*4=28

The closest number of these to 41 without going over is 35, or 7 times 5.

Therefore, Diana put 5 stickers into each group.

Because of this, Diana has leftover stickers, which she gives to her stickers.

To find the amount of leftover stickers, we subtract the number of stickers in the groups from Diana's total amount of stickers.

    41-35 = 6

Diana has 6 leftover stickers, which she gives to her sister.
