    1. Answer=2/3

    21=total guests

    7=guests with whistles

    21-7=14

    14=guests without whistles

    14 out of 21 guests did not have whistles. 14/21

    reduce by dividing both the numerator and the denominator by 7

    14/21=2/3

    2. Answer=Fruit

    1/2 bought veggies

    5/6 bought fruit

    To find out which one is greater, divide the numerator by the denominator

    1/2=0.5

    5/6=0.833

    5/6 is the greater fraction

    3. Answer=9 1/10 buckets

    each day 1bucket+3/10 of a bucket is eaten

    1day=1 3/10buckets

    to find out how many buckets get eaten in 7 days, multiply 7 by 1 3/10

    7*1 3/10=9 1/10buckets

    9 1/10 buckets were eaten in a week
