The possibility of building a new city park, 12 out of 15 people thought that building the park was a good idea. There were 600 people surveyed. What percent do not think the park is a good idea?

    To find the answer, you have to cross multiply 3 by 100 to get 300

    Next, you divide 300 by 15 to get 20

    If 12 of 15 thought it was a good idea then (15-12) = 3, 3 out of 15 thought is was not a good idea ...

    Percent means per one hundred

    p/100=3/15

    p=3 (100) / 15=20%

    So 20%, or 120 people of the 600, thought the park was not a good idea.
