    First you have to in your case you have to subtract 15 from 3. Then you have 12. So right now you have 12=4t. So now you have to divide 12 and 4 so that will be 3. That is your answer to your question.

    -15 - 15

    -4t = - 12

    -4t/-4 = - 12/-4

    t = 3
