Viki makes a shade of green icing for her cake by using 3 drops of yellow food coloring for every 4 drops of blue food coloring.

If Viki uses 12 drops of yellow food coloring for her icing, how many drops of blue food coloring would she need to use to make the same shade of green?

    Yellow:blue

    3:4

    12:x

    you can cross multiply:

    3/4=12/x, 3*x=4^12

    3x=48

    x=16
