    Given:

    50 students.

    1 student gets 1st place

    1 student gets 2nd place

    1 student gets 3rd place

10 students tie for 4th place

When winning a contest, the least award is the first to be announced, followed by the minor, then, major awards.

    Probability of 4th place: 10/50 or 1/5

    Probability of 3rd place: 1 / (50-10) or 1/40

    Probability of 2nd place: 1 / (50-10-1) or 1/39

    Probability of 1st place: 1 / (50-10-1-1) or 1/38
