    The two consecutive integers are 2 and 3

    Solution:

    Let x and x + 1 are the two consecutive integers

    Let "x" be the smallest integer

    Let "x + 1" be the larger integer

    Given that, sum of 2 consecutive integers is one less than 3 times the smaller integer

    Therefore,

    sum of 2 consecutive integers = one less than 3 times the smaller integer

    sum of 2 consecutive integers = 3 times the smaller integer - 1

    x + x + 1 = 3 (x) - 1

    2x + 1 = 3x - 1

    3x - 2x = 1 + 1

    x = 2

    Thus the smaller integer = x = 2

    Larger integer = x + 1 = 2 + 1 = 3

    Thus the two consecutive integers are 2 and 3
