Last year, Maya had 10,000 to invest. She invested some of it in an account that paid 5% simple interest per year, and she invested the rest in an account that paid 10% simple interest per year. After one year, she received a total of 900 in interest. How much did she invest in each account?

    .05x +.10 (10,000 - x) = 900

    -0.025x + 1,000 = 900

    0.025x = 100

    x = 100/0.025 = 4,000
