The amount of work you need to do for this problem is completely dependent on how well you recognize decimals as fractions. If you are comfortable with fractions, you will immediately recognize that 0.125 is 1/8. If not, you can multiply it by 2 to get 2*0.125=0.25, which you know is 1/4, and because you multiplied it by 2, you must also divide it by 2 to keep it equal. 1/4 divided by 2 is 1/8. If you are not comfortable with this short-hand method, then you can also do it using the following method:

0.125 is 125 thousandths of a whole, meaning it can be represented by the fraction, 125/1000. From here, you can use the greatest common factor of the numerator and the denominator to simplify. The GCF of 125 and 1000 is 125. 125/125 is 1, and 1000/125 is 8. So the simplified fraction is 1/8.
