You use 6 gallons of water on 20 plants at that rate how much water do you need to water 30 plants?

    6/20 is the same as - - > 3/10 if you reduce it (dividing by 2)

    Then, set up another fraction based on the fact that you know that 3 time 10 = 30.

    just multiply the top and bottom numbers (numerator and denominator) by 3

    3x3/10x3 = 9/30
