    The perimeter of a rectangle:

    P = 2 L + 2 W

    where L is the length and W is the width.

    The area of a rectangle:

    A = L x W

    7/10 = L x 4/5

    L = 7/10 : 4/5 = 7/10 * 5/4

    L = 7/8 in

    P = 2 * 4/5 + 2 * 7/8 = 8/5 + 14/8 = 64/40 + 70/40 = 134/40 = 3 14/40 =

    = 3 7/20 < 3 1/2

    Answer:

    A silver line is long enough to outline the stone.
