    Volume of smallest candle = pi r^2 h = pi*0.5^2 * 3 = 2.356 ins^3

    volume of candle with scale factor 2 = 2.356 * 2^3 = 18.848

    ... 3 = 2.356 * 3^3 = 63.612

    Total volume of wax needed = 2.356 + 18,848 + 63.612 = 84.816

Answer is 84.82 ins^3 of wax to the nearest hundredth.
