125 students have voluteered to be on the prom committee. 2 of those students will be randomly chosen to win free tickets to the prom. How many different ways can the winners be chosen?

    Answer: There are 7,750 different ways the winners can be chose.

    To find this problem, we have to first multiply all the ways we can select the winners.

    It would be 125 x 124 = 15500 ways.

    However, there is no difference between being chosen first or second, so we need to divide this answer by 2.

    15500 / 2 = 7750
