    32-x = 7 (x)

    32-x = 7x

    32 = 8x

    4 = x (daughter's age)

    32-4 = 7 (4)

    28 = 28

    28 (mother's age)

    This would b 7a (mother) plus a (daughter) equals 32. 7a + a = 8a. 8a=32. Divide eight from both sides and you get a=4. So the daughter is four and the mother is seven times that, which is twenty eight. Four plus twenty eight equals thirty two, so those are your answers.

    The daughter is 4 the mother is 28
