The method of solving any question where you have to find the percentage increase is to

First find the difference by subtracting the increase from the original which in this case is 45-41 = 4

Then divide the difference by the original weight

    4/41 = 0.097

Lastly, multiply the answer to that by 100 to get your answer which is

    0.097x 100 = 9.7 %

so the answer is that the increase in weight is 9.7%
