    S usan will have 25% more books than Michael

    Step-by-step explanation:

    First we have to calculate how many books Susan has

    x = Susan's books

    50% = 50/100

    x = 40 + 40 * 50/100

    x = 40 + 20

    x = 60

    y = Michael's books

    y = 40 + 8

    y = 48

    60 > 48

    S usan will have more books than Michael

    To know the percentage of more that susan will have we have to divide the quantity of susan's books by michael's

    60/48 = 1.25

    To find the percentage we multiply it by 100 and subtract 100

    1.25 * 100 - 100 =

    125 - 100 = 25%
