The spin on a washing machine takes out 35% of the water in the clothes. the clothes in the washing machine contains 3 pints of water. How much water is left after a spin?

    By the removal of 35% of water in the washing machine this means that 65% of the water will remain in the clothes after washing. Thus, the amount of water in the clothes will be equal to initial amount times 65%.

    water left = (3 pints) (0.65)

    water left = 1.95 pints
