    72 adult tickets were sold and 114 child tickets were sold.

    Step-by-step explanation:

    x+y=186, 14x=10y=2148

    x=186-y

    14 (186-y) + 10y=2148

    2604-14y+10y=2148

    2604-4y=2148

    -4y=-456

    y=144

    x=186-144 : x=72
