How many solutions exist for the given equation? 12x+1=3 (4x+1) - 2

    12x+1=3 (4x+1) - 2

    12x=3 (4x+1) - 3

    12x=12x+3-3

    12x=12x

    there are infinite solutions in that no matter what x is equal to, the equation will always be true (at least I think that's the answer ...)
