Two students, Raymond and Shauna, are trying to get city council members to vote for a new park along the river. 2/6 of the 24 council members say they already support the idea, but that's not enough. At least 13 council members must support the idea before the park is approved. How many more city council members must Raymond and Shauna convince?

    To find the answer, you must first find 2/6 of 24.

    24 : 6 = 4

    4 * 2 = 8

    We now know that 8 council members support the idea. All that needs to be done is subtract 8 from 13, which equals 5.
