R the experiment of rolling an ordinary pair of dice, find the probability that the sum will be less than 4 or greater than 10.

    There are 36 possible outcomes. The three outcomes 1,1; 1,2 and 2.1 have sums less than 4. The three outcomes 5,6; 6,5 and 6,6 have sums greater than 10.

    P (sum < 4) = 3/36.

    P (sum > 10) = 3/36

    P (4 > sum > 10) = 3/36 + 3/36 = 6/36 = 1/6

    The answer is 1/6.
