Rational numbers are numbers that are or can be turned into fractions. They can be positive or negative.

    Examples:

5 is rational because it can be turned into 5/1.

-2/1 is rational because it is a fraction

    sqrt of 81 is rational because sqrt 81 = 9 ... and 9 is 9/1
