    A trinomial is a perfect square trinomial if it can be factored into a binomial multiplied to itself. (x + 6) ^2 = x^2 + 12x + 36 is an example

x^2 is the square of x.

    12x is twice the product of x with 6. (x· 6 = 6x. Twice that is 12x.)

36 is the square of 6.

    x^2 + 12x + 36 is called a perfect square trinomial

which is the square of a binomial.

    difference of squares problem can be factored as follows: a2 - b2 = (a + b) (a - b) or (a - b) (a + b).

    x²-25 can be factored as (x+5) (x-5)
