Sally and Mike have been in lockdown with their two children in Auckland for the April holidays.
Luckily both are able to work from home, but have to employ a nanny to look after the children.
After some thought the family has decided to take a holiday in the September school holidays
(They will spend 10 days away).
They have the following budget sorted.
Sally earns $3807 after tax and Mike earns $2087 after tax each fortnight.
• Their expenses as a family are $3100 per fortnight.
The nanny is paid $20 per hour and works on average 20 hours per week. (This is extra to
the family expenses).
How much would Sally and Mike have left each fortnight?
They will be able to save 80% of the remaining money.
They have 10 fortnight payments to save for the trip.
