    Cost of pencil = x+0.25

    Cost of eraser = x

    Cost of 8 pencil = 6.80

    Cost of 1 pencil = 6.80/8 = 0.85

    So the cost of eraser

    0.85 = x+0.25 (cost of 1 pencil)

    0.85-0.25 = x

    0.6 = x

    So the cost of eraser is $ 0.6

    Cost of Pencil $6.80 / 8

    = $0.85

    Cost of eraser

    $0.85 - $0.25

    = $0.60
