John and 4 friends are going out for pizza for lunch. They split one pizza and 5 large drinks. The pizza cost $12.00. After using a $5.00 gift certificate, they spend a total of $14.25. Write an equation to model this situation, and find the cost of one large drink.

    well if the pizza costs $12.00 then that leaves $2.25

    $14.25-$12.00=$2.25

    and then take $2.25 and devide it by 5 for the amout each soda costs

    $2.25/5=$0.45

    each soda costs $0.45
