    Okay so

    5x-2y=14

    2y=5x-14

    y = (5x-14) / 2

    2x-y=5

    y=2x-5

    2 (2x-5) = 5x-14

    4x-10=5x-14

    x=4

    y = (5[4]-14) / 2

    y = (20-14) / 2

    y=6/2

    y=3

    Answer: x=4, y=3
