A random sample of 30 seventh grade students shows that 12 of them own a dog. How many seventh grade students can you predict own a dog if the entire population of seventh graders is 400?

    The way I did this was by 400/30: which was 13.3 repeating. I then mutliplied this number by 12, to find the final answer of 160.
