    Purchase price = Rs. 3000

    Let the price marked on the Sari be x

    After 10% discount, Kiran still makes 20% gain.

    After discount, the price of the Sari = (100-10) %*x = 90% of x = 0.9x

    Then,

    (0.9x - 3000) / 3000 = 0.2

    0.9x - 3000 = 3000*0.2 = 600

    0.9x = 3000+600 = 3600

    x = 3600/0.9 = 4000

    Therefore, priced marked on Sari should be Rs. 4000.
