    Add 6 on each side.

    y - 2 (3y - 2) + 6 = 0

    Simplify the left side of the equation.

    y - 6y - 4 + 6 = 0

    Combine common terms.

    -5y + 2 = 0

    Add 5y to each side.

    2 = 5y

    Divide each side by 5.

    0.4 = y
