Since there are six sides to the dice, the probability of rolling a number less than 5 is 4/6

There are only two sides to a coin. Therefore, the probability of flipping tails is 1/2

To find what the probability of getting both things, you simply multiply both fractions.

    1/2 X 4/6

    1 X 4 = 4

    2 X 6 = 12

    4/12

Since the answer should be given in it's "simplest form", you should cancel it down. Since 12 is also divisible by 4, you divide both sides by 4.

    4 : 4 = 1

    12 : 4 = 3

    1/3

The probability of rolling a number less than 5 and flipping tails is 1/3
