The length of a rectangle is 8 feet longer than the width. If the perimeter is 108 feet, find the length and width of a rectangle.

    perimeter = 2L + 2W

    L=w+8

    perimeter = 2 (w+8) + 2w

    108 = 2w + 16 + 2w

    108=4w+16

    92=4w

    w=92/4 = 23

    l=23+8 = 31

    23*2 = 46, 31*2 = 62, 62 + 46 = 108

    length = 31 feet

    width = 23 feet
