The owner of a miniature golf course plans to spend no more than 300 on supplies. Golf balls cost 7.30 per dozen, and putters coat 10.95 each. The owner decideds to buy 10 dozen golf balls. Can the owner also afford to buy 20 putters? Wrote and solve an inequality to justify your answer.

    Let x be the number of dozens of golf balls

    and y be the number of putters

    300 > 7.30x + 10.95y

    300 > 7.30 (10) + 10.95 (20)

    300 > 73.00 + 219.00

    300 > 292.00

    The owner can afford 20 putters
