farrah has baked 18 peaunt butter and 12 chocolate chip cookies. she want to split the cookies into plates that have equal amounts of cookies with on leftover what is the largest number of plates she can make? How many of Each cookie will be on the plate

    18 = 3*3*2

    12 = 2*2*3

    the greatest common factor is 2*3 = 6

    she can make 6 plates

    18/6 = 3

    12/6 = 2

    Each of the 6 plates will have 3 peanut butter cookies and 2 chocolate chip cookies for a total of 5 cookies on each plate
