Two crocodile owners (owner i and owner ii) were talking and, during the conversation, they realised a weird coincidence. if owner i sold 7 of his crocodile to owner ii, owner i would have the same amount of crocodiles as owner ii. on the other side, if owner ii sold 7 of his crocodiles to owner i, owner i would have exactly the double of crocodiles of owner ii. how many crocodiles each of them have?

    Let owner 1 have x crocodiles and owner 2 have y crocodiles, then we can set up 2 equations:-

    x - 7 = y + 7 (when owner 1 sells 7 to owner 2)

    x + 7 = 2 (y - 7) (when owner 2 sells 7 to owner 1)

    from first equation

    x - y = 14 and from second equation:_

    -x + 2y = 21 Adding thes 2 equations:-

    y = 35

    and therefore x = 14 + 35 = 49

    So owner 1 has 49 crocs and owner 2 has 35 crocs.
