Add the numerators, 4 and 7, and don't just the denominator, 8, since they're just the same.
4/8 + 7/8 = 11/8
The answer is an improper fraction so you have to change it to a moxed number.
You divide the numerator, 11, to the denominator, 8
11 / 8 = 1 3/8

Just add 4 and 7 and then put it over 8.
