15.3 feet was the distance traveled in a swing

    Step-by-step explanation:

In this question, we are asked to calculate the total distance traveled by a string given its forward distance traveled and the total distance it took backwards.

To get the total distance traveled, what we do is to add the distance traveled in the forward direction to the distance traveled in the backward direction.

we were made to know that the distance traveled in the backward direction is equal to 70% of the forward. in the question, the forward direction was given as 9

This means total distance traveled backward will be 70/100 * 9 = 6.3 feet

Total distance traveled will be 6.3 feet + 9 feet = 15.3 feet
