A regulation tennis court for a singles match is laid out so that it's length is 3 ft less than 3 times its width. The are of the singles court is 2106 so ft. Find the length and width of the singles court

    If x is the length and y is the width, then the equation is 2016=y+3y-3. That equals 2016=4y-3, that equals 2109=4y, and finally that equals 527.25. 527.25 is the width of the court. To find the length you must multiply that by 3 and subtract 3 from that answer. The length is 1578.75
