The perimeter of Jonah's square backyard is 56 meters.

What is the area of Jonah's backyard?

    224 because his backyard is a square and all squares have the same length of sides so there are 4 sides so you multiply 56*4

    The perimeter is the length of each side added together. Since all sides are the same length on a square, you can just divide by 4:

    56m/4=14m

    The area of a rectangle is base x height; since the sides are the same length,

    A=s*s=14m*14m=196m^2
