    Step-by-step explanation:

    James' age = J

    a) Annie is 3 years older than James so,

    Annies age = 3 + J

    b) Sum of their ages is 18 so,

    Annies age + James' age = 18

    = 3 + J + J = 18

    2J = 18-3

    J = 15/2 = 7.5

    c) Annies age = 3 + J = 3 + 7.5

    = 10.5 years

    A) Annie = J+3

    B) J + (J+3) = 18

    C)

    2J+3 = 18

    -3 - 3

    2J = 15

    1/2 (2J) = (15) 1/2

    J=7.5

    18-7.5 = 10.5

    Annie is 10.5
