    Tim started out with $ 24, of which he received $6 change = 18 of which he spent 2 times more at the game store which would be $ 36.

    Let a be how much he spent at the grocery store and b be how much he spent at the game store.

    a = 24

    a = 2b - 6, from the statement "6 dollars less than two times"

    Now, we substitute the value of a and solve for b:

    24 = 2b - 6

    2b = 30

    b = $15

    The answer is A.
