    Good evening,

    Answer:

    > Can their sum equal 1 : Yes

    → example 1/2 + 1/2 = 1

    > Can their sum be greater than 1 : No

→ Because any fraction less than 1 is less or equal to 1/2

then the sum of two fractions with the same denominator and less than one is less or equal to 1/2 + 1/2 = 1.
