A communications satellite transmits a radio wave at a frequency of 5 x 10^9 Hz. What is the signal's wavelength? Assume the wave travels in a vacuum. Show your work.

    Wave Speed = Wave Frequency x Wavelength

    You know that the speed of radio waves in a vacuum is 3x10^8 m/s

    so you just substitute the values into the equation below.

    Wavelength = Wave Speed / Wave Frequency

    Wavelength = 3x10^8 / 5x10^9

    Wavelength = 0.06 m
