A paint store has 35 gallons of paint in storage, 2/5 of which are for outdoor use. The others are for indoor use. If each galloon costs $22, what is the total cost of the indoor paint in storage?

    35 * (2/5) = 14 (gallons used for outdoor use)

    35 - 14 = 21 (gallons used for indoor use)

    21*22 = $462 (total cost of indoor use of paint in storage)

    If the store has 35 total gallons, 2/3,14 gallons, of that is outdoor. Since you are looking for indoor, you subtract the outdoor gallons from the total amount which equal 3/5 or 21. Then you multiply 21•22=$462
