    The equation would be (with x equaling original price) : $53 + $14.50 = x. The answer of this would be $67.50.

    price of the original ticket is p

    discounted ticekt means that the ticket is sold at a lower price than the original price

    the price of the discounted ticket is $53

    the price you pay for the discounted ticket is $14.5 less than the original price

    therefore we can bulid the following formula

    p - 14.5 = 53

    p = 53 + 14.5 = 67.5

    therefore original price is $67.5
