    Length - l

    Width - w

    Given,

    Perimeter = 78 ft

    2 (l + w) = 78

    l + w = 39

    l = 39 - w

    Given,

    l = 9 + w

    39 - w = 9 + w

    2w = 30

    - - - w = 15

    - - - l = 39 - w = 39 - 15 = 24

    Therefore, the length of the rectangle is 24 ft and width is 15 ft.
