    What you would want to do is make 30% into a decimal which is 0.30. Then divide 72 by 0.30 and get the answer

    If the sale was for 30% off, then she paid 70% of the regular price

    100%-30%=70% or 0.70

    72*0.70=$50.40

    Answer = $50.40
